Last Sunday, we paused in our service to pray for those believers around the world that are persecuted for their faith in places where you can actually die for gathering and worshipping Jesus as Lord. And in a way, we did so thinking about those believers over there… in those places and those countries
Then we left church. As I was leaving the parking lot, my phone started blowing up with new alerts. And I learned, as you probably did as well, that over there and in those countries, was now here in Texas. A gunman entered a small church outside of San Antonio (about the size of Lakeview) and killed half the congregation and injured another 1/3.
This Sunday, we will be looking at 1 Peter 3:8-22. The heading reading “Suffering for Doing Good.” Here in this country, even in small town Texas, you can understand this passage a little better in light of last Sunday’s massacre. But don’t be discouraged because Peter give us hope and encouragement.
Join us this Sunday for such a message of Hope and Encouragement in the midst of suffering.
